Trumpet Voluntary – Boyce

If you don’t know this piece, it’s good for almost any situation from a church postlude to a wedding recessional. A happy upbeat sound by a great Baroque composer. Optional 1st Eb trumpet.

    This is a sleeper! Not the Trumpet Tune & March you might be thinking of, this is actually two arrangements rolled into one. The first is a beautiful lyrical tune the segues into a joyous march with ornamentation on the repeats. This would be excellent for concerts, preludes or special music. Trumpets swap phrases and an optional 1st Eb trumpet part.

    If you are tired of playing Clarke’s Trumpet Voluntary for a wedding processional, this is an option for you. An effective processional or recessional with trumpets swapping phrases and optional Eb trumpet parts.

    You know these as quartets and have heard the Canadian Brass Quintet perform #4 spread throughout the audience antiphonally. These Gabrielis were arranged specifically to be performed antiphonally but of course, work in the normal setting. If you are tired of the quartet (doubling bass) and want to try an antiphonal setting, the audience will be impressed with the surround sound effect and it will be one of their favorite concert selections. No. 3 is the easiest antiphonally!

    Imagine an orchestra performing this famous overture and the violins are smoking! This is a barn burner overture and a challenge for every instrument. It’s fun, it works, and you and the audience will love it! Optional 1st Eb trumpet is recommended.

    • The Rejoicing – Handel

    This is guaranteed the most effective program opener you will ever do with one of Handel’s most popular and joyful pieces. This is done antiphonally (trumpets starting in the back) and ultimately climaxes together at the end. If that isn’t what you need, a conventional arrangement is included for use as a superb wedding recessional or postlude.

    For those Easter jobs that you play the Hallelujah Chorus with the choir and organ. This is arranged around the original trumpet parts with the low brass filling out the sound.

    Bright Seraphim – Handel

    Want to feature the trumpet players? Then the famous trumpet and soprano aria from Samson is the ticket. One plays the trumpet solo and the other plays the soprano solo. With ornamentation on the D.C. this makes an outstanding trumpet feature. Transposed down a 3rd to Bb concert and optional Eb trumpet parts make this a realistic venture.
